Thanksgiving is this week and we are so thankful for each and everyone of you! We are grateful for the opportunity to help you heal and grow everyday. This past week Dr. Christi Alsop and our "Queen Bee" Dara Montoya, attended the "Live it to Lead it" seminar in beautiful Newport, California. Health Centers of the Futureand Dr. Daniel Pompa (seen above with Dr. Alsop) put together an amazing four day experience that touched on True Cellular Detox, Diet Variation, Fasting, the Keto Diet, and so much more! There were several exhibitors showing off their cutting edge technology, products, and supplements. We are so excited to bring all of that information and some of the technology back to share with you; our community. Healthy Thanksgiving Day Habits...

A recent study showed that the average person gains 1-2 lbs. during the holiday. While that may not seem like much, the study went on to say that those people were not likely to lose that weight in the New Year.

Here are some great tips to keep off those unwanted holiday weight gain:

1. Drink two full glasses of water 1 hour before mealtime. This will make sure you stay hydrated and help you to feel fuller come mealtime.

2. Surround yourself with people who fill your cup emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. That way you aren't eating for comfort or stress.

3. Try not to snack before the main meal. If you must, go for the fiber rich snacks like veggies and fruit.

4. Lean on those healthy food habits you have already established. Paleo, Keto, and Whole 30 can all be incorporated into a Thanksgiving Meal.

5. Instead of crashing on the couch after eating, take 15-20 mins and walk around the neighborhood to avoid bloating, increase circulation and promote digestion.

Queen Bee's Recipes

This bread is AMAZING! Great for making sandwiches or serving with a meal.

Rosemary Cassava Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cassava flour
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot flour
  • 1 Tbsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Mix well.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together all wet ingredients.
  4. Add wet mixture to dry. Mix well.
  5. Pour batter into a lined 8″ x 4″ baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature on a cooling rack.
